Patricia Vickers

is a First Nations psychotherapist, consultant and the former Clinical Director of Mental Health and Wellness for the province of British Columbia with the First Nations Health Authority.

Dr. Vickers has developed, managed and facilitated trauma trainings to over 200 First Nations service providers in British Columbia and has been contracted with First Nations communities on the Northwest coast for over twenty-five years, gaining knowledge of interconnecting ancestral ways with psychotherapy.

Her research (formal and informal) has focused on the effectiveness of neurofeedback for the treatment of intergenerational trauma in two First Nations communities. Dr. Vickers continues to speak internationally about the intersection of traditional ways of healing and neuro-psychotherapy.

Lisa Ndejuru

 is a Psychotherapist experienced in psycho-somatic approaches and specializes in the dynamics of interracial relationships in therapy. Lisa brings extensive experience in facilitating collective circles of care for the black community and integrating the notion of liberation into individual therapeutic practice. Born in Rwanda, she has served the Rwandan diaspora in North America for more than 20 years as an organizer, researcher and activist. Her extensive experimentation with storytelling, play and improvised theatre aims for individual and collective meaning-making and empowerment in the aftermath of large-scale political violence.

In 2023, she received the AMI Québec (Action on Mental Illness) Ella Amir Award for Innovations in Mental Health and was recognized by CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) as a Black Changemaker.

is on faculty in the department of psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where they are the director of the sleep and depression laboratory. They are a leading expert in psychological treatments for insomnia, particularly in the context of co-occurring mental health issues. Their work has been featured in The New York Times and they have over 100 publications on insomnia.

Dr. Carney frequently trains students and mental health providers in CBT for Insomnia at invited workshops throughout North America and at international conferences. Dr. Carney is a passionate advocate for improving the availability of treatment for those with insomnia and other health problems.
